Colorado Outdoor Recreation Industry Office Launches First-Ever Annual COILSummit to Connect Industry Across the State

The Colorado Outdoor Recreation Industry Office (OREC) announced today its inaugural COILSummit (Colorado Outdoor Industry Leadership Summit), a two-day event for invited outdoor industry representatives from across the State of Colorado, set to take place in Denver Sept. 28-29. Commencing on the heels of the national Outdoor Industry Association's (OIA) 2016 Rendezvous event, held in Denver this year, the Summit will feature distinguished national and local panelists and speakers, including a keynote address by Stacy Bare, the Director of the Sierra Club Outdoors.

"The OREC office is excited to bring together thought leaders from the diverse segments that make up Colorado's multi-billion dollar outdoor recreation industry at the first annual COILSummit. We hope this event will foster that famous Colorado collaboration and explore how the community can work together to drive new innovation and growth within this growing sector," said Luis Benitez, director of the Colorado Outdoor Recreation Office. "By working together, we will not only strengthen the industry and its economic impact in the State, but also further Colorado's position as a national leader in the industry."

The two-day event will consist of networking events, educational presentations, and panels covering key topics and trends affecting the outdoor recreation industry, such as: health and wellness, conservation and stewardship, economic development and education.  The Summit will also include the presentation of the first annual COILS Innovation Award. At the conclusion of the event, companies will be encouraged to return to their respective region of the State and host a meeting with local outdoor recreation companies on information learned at COILS, discussing how the region can deepen this shared economic agenda.

Companies, non-profits, government officials, and elected officials will all be present for the Summit, participating from all across Colorado's diverse regions.
