Arvada Economic Development Appreciates Business

Arvada Economic Development Association (AEDA) hosted its 22nd annual Business Appreciation Awards Breakfast on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities. The event drew an audience of over 200 businesses and community leaders. The following businesses were presented with awards in their respective industries. Visit to view videos about each honoree. They are as follows:  

  • Lloyd J. King Entrepreneurial Spirit Award: Named after the founder of King Soopers, which was started in Olde Town Arvada. The award went to Gene and Dee Milstein, founders/owners of Applewood Seed Company located at 5380 Vivian Street. The company has been in business for over 50 years and is committed to innovation and a sustainable environment. 
  • Community Champion Award: Laura Tobey (posthumous) made a significant impact through her vision, evangelism and selfless servant leadership in Olde Town Arvada. Her contributions will live on for generations.
  • Retailer of the year: Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage located at 7745Wadsworth Blvd. 
  • Community Partnership Award: Community First Foundation located at 5855 Wadsworth Bypass.
  • Outstanding Large Business of the Year: Wanco located at 5870 Tennyson Street. 
  • Outstanding Small Business of the Year: Premium Panels located at 6270 Joyce Drive.
