Arvada Streets Division Recognized!

ARVADA, CO – Today the Arvada Economic Development Association (AEDA) and the Arvada Chamber recognized the Arvada Streets Division with an award of appreciation for their exemplary work. “It is important to acknowledge the Arvada Street Division for their greatness” said Hazel Hartbarger, Arvada Economic Development Association Director. She added, “Consistently the Arvada Streets Division provides a stellar service which in turn makes Arvada business operations run smoother.”

Arvada’s Streets Division has been put to the test thus far this snow season! A handful of powerful snowstorms beginning in October have kept snow removal crews busy keeping streets clear for residents, visitors and businesses alike. The City has received many positive comments from citizens and businesses about the outstanding work of the Streets division to remove snow throughout Arvada.

In September 2011, the skills and knowledge of equipment operators from across the United States were tested at the North American Snow and Ice Conference and National Snow Roadeo in Estes Park. The National Snow Roadeo has been part of this conference for the last 28 years bringing together 125 of the best operators representing 32 cities, counties and states. Once again, Arvada placed extremely well in this highly competitive event bringing home three first place, a second place, and placed highly in other award categories.

“The performance by our team was nothing less than exemplary,” said Mark Bowman, Streets Superintendent for the City of Arvada. “Our entire staff takes great pride in providing the best service possible to our citizens and businesses, and that commitment and skill level is shown not only through events like the nationally recognized Snow Roadeo, but on the streets of Arvada every day.”
